About USCIBER

A cybersecurity compliance firm that brings CISO-level leadership to small and mid-sized organizations.

USCIBER helps defense contractors and growing businesses meet security requirements — CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, ISO 27001, and customer and contractual obligations — and build security programs that hold up to auditors and attackers alike. We are based in Northern Virginia and serve clients across the United States and internationally. Founded in 2021.

Why We Exist

Small organizations face the same security expectations as large enterprises: the same frameworks, the same questionnaires, the same attackers. What they usually lack is senior security leadership to turn those expectations into a practical plan.

Large firms often hand small clients to junior staff and generic templates. We built USCIBER to do the opposite: senior expertise on every engagement, scoped to what a small organization actually needs and can sustain.

Our Leadership’s Credentials

Engagements are led by senior security leadership holding:

Credential What it means for you
CISSP — Certified Information Systems Security Professional (ISC2) Broad, senior-level security architecture and program expertise
CISM — Certified Information Security Manager (ISACA) Security governance, risk management, and program leadership
CISA — Certified Information Systems Auditor (ISACA) Audit discipline: we prepare evidence the way assessors evaluate it
GCIH — GIAC Certified Incident Handler Incident response grounded in real attacker behavior
GCIA — GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst Network monitoring and intrusion analysis
C|EH — Certified Ethical Hacker (EC-Council) Understanding of offensive techniques and how controls fail

Our leadership has also applied NIST SP 800-53 in federal (DHS) environments — the control catalog from which NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 are derived.

How We Work

  • Senior-led. The people who scope your engagement are the people who deliver it.
  • Defined scope, clear pricing. Fixed-scope packages with published starting prices, confirmed in writing before work begins.
  • Practical over perfect. Recommendations sized to your team, budget, and risk — prioritized so the most important work happens first.
  • Evidence-based. Findings tied to what we observed, not assumptions. Scores and statements you can defend.
  • Vendor-neutral. We don’t resell security products, so our recommendations aren’t shaped by commissions.
  • Built to last. Documentation and processes your team can maintain after we leave — or that we maintain with you through ongoing vCISO support.

Our Standards

  • Honest scope. We are not a C3PAO and don’t issue CMMC certifications. We are not a certification body for ISO 27001. We tell clients clearly what we do and don’t do.
  • Independence. We don’t audit work we implemented.
  • Confidentiality. Client information is handled under NDA and need-to-know access, and we minimize the sensitive data we hold. We don’t need custody of your CUI to assess how you protect it.
  • No inflated claims. We won’t promise certification outcomes or claim experience we don’t have — on this website or in proposals.
